SMC X Studio330

Overview:

Studio330 is a holistic yoga studio located in downtown Kingston. While they focus on Vinyasa yoga, Studio330 offers a range of classes and workshops ranging from beginner to advanced levels. Moreover, collaborating and supporting different companies in the Kingston community has cemented itself as a go-to yoga studio for both students and Kingston locals. Our main point of contact was Nathan, the new studio owner. The project was led by Emily Gwin and supported by consultants Elizabeth He, Nicole Wu, Kelly Xu, and Will Cooper.

The problem:

Studio330 recently changed ownership, and the new ownership had many great ideas about better promoting the studio with digital marketing and a brand refresh. However, as the studio's target market was so large, Studio330 had trouble using the correct platforms to target the right people. Additionally, with the small team, it became difficult to upkeep the social media accounts, leading to an unclear brand image. The key ask of the project was to develop a digital strategy to address several Studio330 social media accounts, the website, and the upcoming blog. Additionally, Studio330 wanted help refining the brand, including all brand assets.

The solution:

To address these fundamental problems, SMC took a three-prong approach to a new digital strategy. First, the team refined the strategy for each promotional element, including workshops, partnerships, and the website. In this stage, the team completed an in-depth competitive analysis based on other yoga studios in and outside Kingston and created a cohesive strategy for each aspect of the brand. The next prong was to develop a new brand and content guide. The brand guide included a refined colour palette, new font and imagery choices, and guidance on the Studio330 tone of voice. The team recommended content pillars and an implementation timeline in the content guide. Finally, the team created easy-to-use templates for each type of content and platform, including Canva Instagram Templates, WordPress Blog Templates, and MailChimp Newsletter Templates. Along with the templates, the team created an easy-to-follow guide on how to use each. With realistic strategies and streamlined drag-and-drop templates, ownership no longer has to think about creating a cohesive theme, leaving more time to focus on the important thing: building the best yoga community in Kingston.
