SMC x Baskin Robbins Japan

Overview:

31 Aikalima LLC is a major franchisee of Baskin Robbins based out of Japan, with stores across the Hawaiian islands. They are the sole operator of Baskin Robbins stores in this region. The senior project directors of the team were Salonee Singh and Ella Lane, and the project director was Ariz Babul. Consultants on the team were Mabel Hong, Griffen Lee, Eileen Kong, and Isabella Gao. The primary client contact for this project was Ken Sato.

Problem:

31 Aikalima was looking for an entirely new website to digitally advertise their brand. They wanted their website to reflect the tenants of their brand, as well as Baskin Robbins at large. This meant that the website should convey the levity associated with the product they sell (ice cream). Additionally, the website needed to show their CSR efforts, and provide a simple way for prospective franchisees to inquire about Aikalima.

Solution:

SMC's solution was to develop the website using Squarespace. Initially, the plan was to use Webflow, but, due to complications with the platform, Squarespace was selected instead. The project team developed a fully functioning website from scratch, that utilized official Aikalima/Baskin Robbins colours and typefaces. The final website offers visitors an insight into the brand, avenues for hiring or franchising opportunities, and a full list of locations should they be interested in visiting a 31 Aikalima owned shop. All copy for the website was developed by the team, with a focus on professionalism and capturing the essence of 31 Aikalima's brand.

Impact:

The website now gives 31 Aikalima a strong foundation for their digital presence which they can build upon in the future. It offers credibility to their brand, and shows that they are a modern entity.
